Call for Projects Update

AAMPO staff, in coordination with the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), has decided to pause the FY27-30 Call for Projects. This pause is necessary to address important issues that emerged during the project review process and develop a thoughtful, transparent approach moving forward.

First, one of the project funding sources, the Carbon Reduction Program, is scheduled to end in 2026, which will require several projects to be reprogrammed.

Second, many previously approved projects are now facing funding shortfalls due to rising construction costs, resulting in a need for funding to fill in the gap.

This pause will allow AAMPO to carefully review previously approved projects that require additional funding, and consider them alongside the current Call for Projects submissions. It also gives us the opportunity to evaluate how these projects fit into the funding schedule through 2032.

This adjustment will affect the timeline of project funding. AAMPO is aware that delays in decision making can impact project development schedules and remains committed to working closely with our partners to keep projects moving forward as efficiently as possible. With partner support, AAMPO is developing a recommended path forward that will be presented to its Executive Committee.
