What is the ATAC?
The Active Transportation Advisory Committee (ATAC) was established to help improve the region’s safety, programs, investments, and user experience in active transportation. Established in 2021 by the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Transportation Policy Board, the committee was formed following the unification of the MPO’s previous Bicycle and Pedestrian Mobility Advisory Committees (BMAC and PMAC). ATAC's vision is for the region to be distinguished as a place where active transportation users can safely travel on and off-road and active forms of transportation are recognized as a clean, healthy, and affordable form of transportation and recreation.

Apply to ATAC!
AAMPO has opened membership applications for our Active Transportation Advisory Committee (ATAC). Active Transportation refers to trips made by modes of transport that are fully or partially people-powered like walking, people using wheelchairs, cycling (including e-bikes), and public transportation to name a few. ATAC was established to help improve the region’s safety, programs, investments, and user experience in active transportation. ATAC is responsible for advising AAMPO's Technical Advisory Committee and Transportation Policy Board on best practices, scoring criteria, and are involved in developing and contributing to new policy and infrastructure projects. ATAC is accepting applications to fill seven positions in five categories including: two bicycle, two pedestrian (including one representing children and older adult walking populations), one micromobility, one professional, and one representing people with disabilities. If you're interested, please review the AAMPO Ethics Policy and ATAC Bylaws.
For more information or to submit an application, contact Matthew Moreno, Multimodal Transportation Planner at moreno@alamoareampo.org or 210-227-8651. Applications are due by end-of-day January 28, 2024.
